Minecraft Customization
The point here is all Quality-of-life mods with as little interference of new features to the UI. Exceptions include Roughly Enough Items, and Elytra FlightAssistant. Everything should not interfere, there is a few things at the bottom that I turn off manually.
What is my sensitivity?

Play Battlefield 2142 Reclamation and Project Remaster on Linux
Version 1.0.2 - 2026-21-01
Author: Morschi
Having issues or in need of help? You can always ask questions in the Battlefield 2142 Reclamation Discord as well as Battlefield 2142 Project Remaster Discord. Feel free to also ping me directly on those servers, I am always happy to (trying to) help.
Introduction
This tutorial will show you how to install and run Battlefield 2142 on a Linux based distro.
Note that this tutorial is based on EndeavourOS, if you are feeling insecure and just want to precisely follow the guide step by step I recommend installing EndeavourOS. Else continue with your distro of choice.
Disclaimer: When using other distros, please note that I can not guarantee this to work exactly as shown here. While many steps will be (near) identical, installation steps in other distros can always differ and/or not be compatible with this exact setup.
Useful information and workarounds for other distros are found in the Other distros section of this guide.
Prerequisites
We are setting up your system so it is generally ready to play most games, not only Battlefield 2142. We will therefore install various components to ensure a smooth gaming experience on Linux using Wine and Lutris for Windows games.
The application where we will run the game from will be Lutris. Lutris is a comprehensive open-source gaming platform for Linux. It acts as a unified library to install, configure, and launch games from various sources, including Windows games (via Wine).
1. Updates and drivers {#1.-updates-and-drivers}
Before starting, ensure your system is updated and the correct graphics drivers are installed, you can use the console to do so and run the following commands:
Update the system using
| yay | | :—- |
Install graphics drivers
Select the command matching your hardware:
- For AMD GPUs
| yay -S mesa lib32-mesa vulkan-radeon lib32-vulkan-radeon | | :—- |
- For NVIDIA GPUs
| yay -S nvidia nvidia-utils lib32-nvidia-utils | | :—- |
- For Intel GPUs
| yay -S mesa lib32-mesa vulkan-intel lib32-vulkan-intel | | :—- |
Verify Vulkan support
Check if Vulkan is working correctly:
| vulkaninfo | less | | :—- |
If the command is not found, install the tools:
| yay -S vulkan-tools | | :—- |
—
2. Installing Lutris {#2.-installing-lutris}
| yay -S lutris | | :—- |
Once installed, launch it from your start menu or terminal by typing `lutris`.
3. Installing Wine and Dependencies {#3.-installing-wine-and-dependencies}
Lutris can manage Wine versions for you, but installing a system-level base ensures better compatibility and prevents dependency issues.
Installing Wine (Base, Gecko, and Mono)
| yay -S wine wine-gecko wine-mono | | :—- |
Install critical 32-bit libraries
Many Windows games/applications are 32-bit and require these specific libraries to run with audio and controller support:
| yay -S lib32-gnutls lib32-libldap lib32-mpg123 lib32-openal lib32-v4l-utils lib32-libpulse lib32-alsa-plugins lib32-libxcomposite lib32-libxinerama lib32-ncurses lib32-libxml2 lib32-freetype2 lib32-libpng lib32-sdl2 | | :—- |
Install Winetricks
This helper script allows you to easily install various Windows libraries (DLLs) needed for specific games so it never hurts to install this.
| yay -S winetricks | | :—- |
4. Installing DXVK {#4.-installing-dxvk}
DXVK translates DirectX calls to Vulkan, vastly improving performance for Windows games. While Lutris often handles this per-game, you should install it system-wide.
| yay -S dxvk-bin | | :—- |
Installing Battlefield 2142
This section covers installing the game using original media or a backup copy. As most of us have no DVD drive at hand anymore, you can safely go the backup copy route.
Before beginning the installation in Lutris, ensure you have the following files ready:
- Installation Media: A physical DVD of Battlefield 2142 or backup copy
- Serial Key: A valid key for installation.
- The 1.51 Full Patch: Available here
- The Reclamation Project Hub Installer: Available here
1. Add and configure the environment {#1.-add-and-configure-the-environment}
- Open Lutris and click the + icon (Add locally installed Game).
Important: DO NOT pick “Install a Windows game from an executable, it will fail!)
- Game Info Tab:

- Runner: Wine
- Cover: (optional, if you would like to add a cover image in the launcher)
- Game Options Tab:

~/Games/bf2142). - Working Directory: Set this to the same folder as the Wine Prefix, (e.g.,
~/Games/bf2142)
- Executable: Browse to your mounted media or backup copy and select
- Runner Options Tab:
- Wine Version: Select a recent System Wine build (10.20 was used for this initially).
- Wine build 11.0 has now been tested by me and is compatible as well.
- Some distros such as Nobara have issues with this version. Refer to the Known issue area for an alternative configuration in other-distros.
- DXVK Version: Ensure a recent version is selected (v2.6.2 was used for this tutorial)
- Enable Esync: Toggle this On.
- Enable Fsync: Toggle this On.
- Settings are left pretty much standard as is seen in the screenshot below.
- Wine Version: Select a recent System Wine build (10.20 was used for this initially).
- System options
- If you are using a laptop with both a discrete and dedicated GPU, I recommend selecting your dedicated GPU here to prevent issues.
- Click Save in the right corner on top - We do not want to lose everything we just configured. 🙂
2. Install the Base Game {#2.-install-the-base-game}
- Select Battlefield 2142 in Lutris and click Play.
- The standard game installer will launch. Proceed through the installation steps using your Serial Key. ...
2026-01-22-anti-ai-hype
It is simply impossible not to see the reality of what is happening. Writing code is no longer needed for the most part. It is now a lot more interesting to understand what to do, and how to do it (and, about this second part, LLMs are great partners, too). It does not matter if AI companies will not be able to get their money back and the stock market will crash. All that is irrelevant, in the long run. It does not matter if this or the other CEO of some unicorn is telling you something that is off putting, or absurd. Programming changed forever, anyway.

With the easiest setting, computer moves would happen immediately. I knew I had all the time I wanted but I was compelled to move fast. I could not take the time while the other side was immediately reacting to my moves.
